Dining
Some of our favorites in the area include: Hi Point Steak House (Ridgeway), Bob's Bitchin' BBQ, Corralejo Mexican Grill, and The Cook's Room (Dodgeville), Ope Haus Pub (Barneveld), Grumpy Troll Brew Pub and Driftless Social (Mount Horeb), and Arthur's Supper Club, The Shed, and Wisconsin Riverside Restaurant (Spring Green).
Governor Dodge State Park
Located just a few minutes from Dodgeville, we spend lots of time here. There are two lakes for fishing, and tons of hiking trails (one even has a waterfall). If you're into horseback riding, Doby Stables, located just outside the park, offers rides through the park.
Cave of the Mounds
This cave near Blue Mounds has lots of spectacular formations and is definitely worth a visit.
Blue Mounds State Park
Another great state park! Lots of hiking trails, with great views. There are two different towers you can climb to really get a good view of the driftless region.
The House on the Rock
If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience, this is it. There is a house, perched on top of a chimney of rock, with a gravity-defying infinity room. Collections upon collections. And some really cool music machines. Oh, and a carousel. This is one of those places that's hard to put into words. Located a short drive north of Dodgeville.
Pendarvis
A Wisconsin State Historical Site, located about 10 minutes from Dodgeville. Mineral Point is rich with Cornish history, and this is the place to learn all you want to know. You can tour the old log and stone structures, and hear stories about the people who settled in this area.
